Christmas in the Canaries with Pullmantur Cruises
Temperatures may have cooled considerably across the European continent, but those who travel slightly further south will be handsomely rewarded. Situated just off the western coast of the African continent are the Canary Islands – a volcanic archipelago offering golden sands, warm temperatures and the perfect location in which to relax and unwind. Throughout the winter period, Pullmantur Cruises will offer a series of itineraries to this gorgeous sun-kissed region, where you will be able to enjoy a much warmer Christmas experience with a hint of Spanish culture.
Horizon will operate back-to-back seven-night itineraries around the Canary Islands, taking passengers to a range of destinations including Tenerife, La Palma, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and the Moroccan coastal city of Agadir. You can even enjoy Christmas celebrations on the islands, with departures available on the 20th and 21st December 2017 out of Gran Canaria and Tenerife respectively. We take a look at some of the reasons why you should put your feet up and let Pullmantur do all the hard work for you this Christmas.
On board experience
Imagine being able to enjoy Christmas dinner and a few festive drinks without even having to lift a finger. No preparation and no washing up duties are required - all you have to do is take your seat in the on board restaurant and enjoy a fine Spanish-inspired meal with all the trimmings. During the meal, you can enjoy a range of specially selected wines that will make a perfect accompaniment to your meal. Furthermore, you can also enjoy a festive beverage in one of the many on board bars and lounges available. Unlike Christmas back in the UK where you may want to hibernate for the day, a journey to the top deck will provide an opportunity to top up your tan in the Canarian sun.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Regardless of whether you decide to embark on the 20th December out of Gran Canaria or the 21st December out of Tenerife, you will be able to enjoy the same range of beautiful destinations. After docking in La Palma on the 22nd and spending a day at sea on the 23rd, you will spend Christmas Eve in the Moroccan coastal city of Agadir. Here, you will be able to enjoy a journey of the senses – with vibrant smells, colourful mosaic designs and a cacophony of sounds leaving you totally entranced.
Lanzarote is where you will get to spend Christmas Day. As most of the locals are likely to be at home celebrating with their families, you will almost certainly be able to enjoy the pristine beaches all to yourself. This is followed by a call into Fuerteventura on Boxing Day, which is home to some of the finest beaches in Europe – following recognition by the Quality Coast International Certification Program of the European Coastal and Marine Union.
With Pullmantur’s all-inclusive on board package, you can enjoy a relaxing Christmas experience without having to worry about incurring any additional charges. All on board meals, drinks, port taxes, entertainment and much more is included in the cost of your cruise fare.
In addition to sailings to the Canary Islands, Pullmantur will also be operating itineraries in the Caribbean over the festive period, enabling you to visit a range of destinations including St Lucia, Grenada and Costa Rica.
