Winter Caribbean Cruises
Throughout the winter season of the remainder of 2016 and into early 2017, Pullmantur Cruises will be operating a series of Caribbean cruises that promise to deliver warm temperatures, glorious beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. Both Monarch and Zenith will be positioned in the Caribbean during this time, offering cruises to different parts of the Caribbean.
Monarch will operate seven-night roundtrip cruises in the western Caribbean, while Zenith will operate seven-night roundtrip itineraries in the eastern Caribbean. This week, Pullmantur Cruises takes a closer look at the stunning destinations you will be able to experience on each itinerary.
Legendary Caribbean Cruise*
The Legendary Caribbean Cruise itinerary incorporates elements of Central and South America, as well as an array of Caribbean islands. From Colon, in Panama, you will be able to admire the northernmost tip of the Panama Canal – one of the greatest manmade structures ever built. Sailing out of Panama, you will visit the Colombian city of Cartagena, which was home to one of the first Spanish colonies on South American shores. Much of the city’s history is enshrined in the 500-year-old coral stone forts.
The first Caribbean destination visited on this itinerary is Montego Bay, in Jamaica, which is home to a mountainous beach area filled with mangrove wetlands. This area is home to a thriving culture and colourful atmosphere that is filled with flowering trees, white beaches, and turquoise waters – all of which can be enjoyed while the sound of reggae music fills the air. From here, you will head to Georgetown, in the Cayman Islands, which is home to the glorious Seven Mile Beach. The final destination, prior to returning to Colon, is Puerto Limon, in Costa Rica, which is home to a wonderful and intriguing mix of beaches and lush forests.
Caribbean Islands Cruises*
Sailing around the eastern Caribbean, the Caribbean Islands Cruise itinerary incorporates some of the region’s finest beach destinations. St Maarten is one of the smallest islands in the world to be divided in two - with the southern half being a Dutch territory and the north being a French territory. Your cruise ship will depart from Philipsburg, in the Dutch half of the island, which is home to a fabulous shopping district.
From here, you will travel on towards St John’s, in Antigua and Barbuda; Castries, in Saint Lucia; and Bridgetown, in Barbados – all of which are home to some of the world’s most renowned beaches. After a day at sea, Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic, is the next destination on the list and is steeped in history. It was discovered by Bartholomew Columbus – brother of Christopher Columbus – and is the oldest continually inhabited settlement on the American continent. Elsewhere on the island, you will also be able to visit the city of La Romana, which offers a vibrant atmosphere and many beautiful beaches.
Throughout the winter season, the Caribbean is the perfect place to travel for warm temperatures, glorious beaches, and a generally relaxed atmosphere. A Caribbean cruise is the perfect option for anyone looking to escape the harsh cold temperatures and the Christmas rush this season.
